9/19-9/15: Scotfest

Head to Broken Arrow Events Park for a weekend of Celtic music and Highland Games! This year marks Scotfest’s 40th anniversary and will feature Highland athletics and dance, Irish dance, food, drinks, and more. 9/19-9/22: Tulsa Greek Festival

This festival is the city’s longest-running ethnic festival and one of the September events you will not want to miss! Entertainment includes dancing, church tours, and a variety of vendors selling Greek and Greek-inspired items. Festivities begin on Thursday and continue through Highway Friday, Super Saturday, and Sunday Funday.

9/21: Festival Americas

Head to Guthrie Green to celebrate Oklahoma’s premier Latin-American festival. This is one of Tulsa’s free September events, and features live music, dancing, a tequila garden, art market, and more. Along with festivities, Festival Americas also awards scholarships to inspire the next generation of leaders.

9/6-9/7: Bluegrass and Chili Festival

This year, Historic Downtown Wagoner hosts the 40th Annual Bluegrass and Chili Festival. Less than an hour drive from Tulsa, this is one of the city’s September events perfect for music and food lovers alike. Bluegrass musicians include Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, The Cleverlys, and more. The Mid-America Regional Chili Cook-off takes place on Saturday and features categories like Homestyle and Chili Verde. Whether you like it mild, spicy, or in between, you will find a chili for you at this festival.

9/14: MisFEST

Music is She and She is Music. MisFEST is a platform supporting women in the music industry as well as River Park. Guthrie Green holds this free, all-ages event showcasing the talents of the diverse women in music. Artists include KT Tunstall and Tea Rush. Featured workshops range from digital marketing to songwriting. Gather your friends and family and head to this inspiring concert.

9/27-10/26: Haunted Castle Halloween Festival

On Fridays and Saturdays from the end of September leading up to a few days before Halloween, The Castle of Muskogee turns into a haunted castle. This is one of the last September events and celebrates both fall and Halloween with a variety of features. Activities range from family-friendly to “Consider yourself Warned,” meaning there is something for everyone.

9/2: Tulsa’s Great Raft Race

Occurring on Labor Day, this is one of the earliest September Events, but surely not one to miss. This is the fifth year of the race’s revival on the Arkansas River. Get a raft and put together a team for your chance at winning best in your category. Categories are split into two: canoes, kayaks, SUPS, and inflatables; and homemade rafts. There will also be prizes for the best raft theme and costume.

9/6-9/8: Wizard World Tulsa

The Wizard World Comic Con takes place at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center this year. Celebrity guests include those like Jewel Staite, Joe Flanigan, and Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa. Don your favorite character’s clothing and spend the weekend roaming a fantasy world you have only seen in books, comics, and movies.

9/26-10/6: Tulsa State Fair

Not only is this one of the most family-friendly September events, but the Tulsa State Fair is the city’s premier family activity. Competitions include Livestock and Horse shows, Picking and Fiddling Competitions, and of course, the Miss Tulsa State Fair Pageant. Along with the typical carnival attractions, T-Town provides educational experiences to preserve heritage and enlighten those of all ages.
