5/7: First Friday Art Crawl
May’s First Friday Art Crawl will be unique, as Mayfest will be going on! Venues are open at various times, with different COVID restrictions, so remember to check before you go and be prepared!
5/7: Chillbrook Live: In the Garden with FAYE & Chris Combs Trio
This exciting evening is perfect for date night! Safety precautions are still in place at Philbrook, meaning you can relax and enjoy your time listening to local top musicians! A cash bar and food will also be available, as well as garden activities before the music starts. This is one of the best things to do in May for couples!
5/7-8: Bixby BBQ N’ Blues Festival
A fun event for the whole family, and one of the few BBQ-themed things to do in May. This festival has music, vendors, and of course, BBQ! For those not into smoked foods, other options are available.
5/7-9: Mayfest
Mayfest is Tulsa’s #1 arts festival. Safety is highlighted for this event, and a safety plan can be found on Mayfest’s website. Food, vendors, crafts, and a chance for you to get creative! Check out this weekend celebrating the arts.
5/8: Cinco de Mayo Fiesta
No list of things to do in May is complete without at least one Cinco de Mayo celebration on it! Broken Arrow’s celebration of Hispanic culture features Mexican food, dancing, shopping, and more! Broken Arrow partnered with Vega & Treviño Consulting to ensure purposeful and authentic representation in their celebration.
5/8-9: Tulsa Festival of Kites
A fun weekend for kite lovers of all ages! This event will feature a variety of kites from flyers all over the region. The event will include kite making for children, as well as kites for sale for everyone else!
5/21: Ask a Horticulturist
A fun event for gardeners of all levels! This hour-long event is free with advance ticket admission, and it is well worth it! Take the opportunity to bring your questions and pictures to Philbrook’s team of expert horticulturists who can help you solve your garden problems.
5/28: Burger Night at Philbrook
Burger Night at Philbrook is the “patio season” event to attend! There is limited patio seating as well as a picnic-style option, so remember to bring your blankets! Plus, this event coincides with Philbrook’s $5 after 5PM Fridays, meaning you get quite a deal with your meal! Vegetarian options are available.
5/28-30: Tulsa Gem Faire
Gem Faire is one of the largest gem, jewelry, and bead shows in the U.S., and it’s coming to Tulsa! This event is one of the best places to find quality crystals, minerals, and more. Also, the dealers at Gem Faire are direct importers, wholesalers, and manufacturers, meaning you are purchasing right from the source!
Every Thursday: Yoga in the Park
Head to Redbud Festival Park for a relaxing and grounding evening, every Thursday! All levels are welcome to this session, brought to you by 10 GYM of Owasso. Remember to bring your own mat and water!
Every Friday: $5 After 5PM at Philbrook
See what Philbrook has to offer at a discounted rate! Every Friday after 5PM, Philbrook only charges $5 for admission into the museum and garden. Remember to purchase your tickets beforehand, as advanced time-entry tickets are required!
Every Saturday: Redbud Farmer’s Market
One of the best things to do in May is to attend a farmer’s market! Every Saturday of the season, local vendors descend upon Redbud Festival Park in Owasso with their goods.
