Most of the time when camping in an RV Park near Tulsa, people are content sitting around a campfire with a cold beverage in one hand and a s’more in the other. Other times the family would enjoy a game, but playing monopoly over and over again becomes mundane.
So in the following article, we’ll suggest nine different activities your family can enjoy while camping in an RV park. We’ll split the list into two parts, indoor and outdoor games. Some games will be better suited for adults and others may be oriented towards children. We’ll specify which is which.
Note: This post is not going to include any electronic games such as PlayStation, Nintendo or Xbox because many families have a healthy no electronics rule.
Indoor Camping Games
Playing Cards – First and foremost, would be a deck of playing cards. This one is a no-brainer. They hardly take up any space and there’s nearly an endless list of games that can be played. Here’s just a few
- Gin Rummy
- Poker
- Go Fish
- Spades
- Crazy 8’s
Jenga – Another classic. Jenga is a literal tower of fun. The concept is relatively simple. Each player must take turns to remove a block from the tower until it falls. Last person who makes it fall loses.
Yahtzee – Another must-have. Points are scored based on different combinations of the die, including three of a kind, straights, and the elusive Yahtzee. So roll the dice and try your luck.
Cards Against Humanity – This game has been described as the adult version of Apples to Apples, meaning it is not a kid-friendly game. The player will read what’s written on a black card which will be followed by a blank space. The remaining players will then “fill in the blank” with whatever white card they have in their hand that they feel fits most appropriately. The game typically leads to loads of laughs (as long as you have the right crowd).
Misc Board Games – Depending on how many kids you have camping with you at an RV park in the Tulsa area, you may need a few games better suited for younger children. If this is the case, you can’t go wrong with classics such as Candyland, Hungry Hungry Hippos, Life, and Operation.
Outdoor Games
Cornhole – Cornhole is a lot like horseshoes except your throwing beans onto a board instead. It’s loads of fun and a lot harder than it sounds to toss that bean bag into that little hole from 20 yards away. The only downside is it’s kind of a big game to store. On the upside, it’s a great activity the whole family can enjoy.
Football/Frisbee/Baseball – Essentially, we’re just suggesting you bring something to toss around. This is a great activity that gets you moving but also doesn’t require much to set up. All you need is a ball.
Geocaching – Geocaching is a recent invention that’s an enjoyable activity for the entire family staying in an RV Park. The basic premise is people hide little containers all over the world and provide coordinates to where they hid it. So all you need is a GPS to guide you to the location so you can look for it. There are several websites which provide coordinates and keep track of cache locations. A cursory google search will point you in the right direction.
